The knife is a Marine combat/utility knife usually referred to as a KA-BAR (one of many subcontractors that produced it) and is issued to pistol bearers.

The pistol is the immortal US Government Model 1911 .45 ACP, which was adopted in 1911 and used until the M-9 Beretta was adopted in the late 1980's.
